From HPCA forum comes, An Interesting Factoid....It seems that the Royal Air Force maintained in storage a stock of barrage balloons acording to the Twitter (X) post below: Website in question: If Only They Had Employed a Balloon Barrage
So would this help in the battle, the Argentinian Airforce would not only have to dodge small arms fire, but also a Balloon Barrage.

I suspect not. Even assuming they were in decent state your would need people to install and operate them as well as time to do so. Since there were only two squads of Marines because the invasion occurred in a period when the garrison was being switch and the entire population was only about 1800 spread across the islands I think this would be difficult/impossible to do in time. This issues was further complicated by the lack of support from London which apparently found out details of where landings would occur but failed to pass them on to the garrison which meant it, tiny as it was, was spread over several beaches.
Furthermore where would they be deployed? The islands are about the size of Wales and while you could cover parts of the region around Port Stanley how effective would that be? You might catch the odd unaware Argentinian a/c but that's going to have little effect as it was the forces coming ashore that occupied the islands.

As said over there, this is literally a nothing sandwich. There was a lot of stuff in deep storage in 1982, none of which was contemplated. There are real questions of AH, and then there are frivolous ones. This is definitely the latter.

Well it was a try, toughed, one, two ore more balloons would change the something like the Bluff Cove air attacks, but you and stevep quickly shot down this balloon with good arguments.
