How do you think would ww1 look like if it was fought using modern technology?
Is it only my opinion that trench warfare may not come into being at all given the prevalence of tanks and that Germany would hold an advantage at least in the west?

Including nukes? Or drones? Do satellites count as weapons?
Or did you rather have WW2 in mind?

Modern technology is a broad notion, but even in a narrow sense, you can easily preclude or remove the comparative deadlock of trench warfare to some extent.
If both sides have said technology, then I point you towards the current war in the Ukraine for how a conflict can still ‘go static’.

No nukes but satellites and drones obviously yes.

By definition both sides have modern tech at the beginning of the war. Army sizes and populations remain as they were during WW1.

Did it just appear out of the blue or did they develop it? Do they have any idea of how to use the stuff? How about communications lines and powersupply - 1914 or what?

The entire countries are modernized up to 2023 level including the entire communications infrastructure. One might say it's 2023 with 1914 politics.
Let's say in 1913 the countries (oncluding armies) just modernized out of nowhere.

M'kay - basically 1914 mentality with our tech. Bound to go bonkers. Within a year going from most primitive Bi-planes to gen.4 or 5 jets.. and understanding the workings of Battlefield management app's. Its gonna be chaotic on both sides.

Do you think there'll be years of trench warfare as in OTL ww1?
