On 1549, after visiting Malacca enroute to Japan, Francis Xavier would reach Manila, however, the populace would be against a new missionary promoting a religion that is unfamiliar to them which would cause some conflict in the population as the population is against Francis Xavier and Francis Xavier would reroute to Pangasinan or Caboloan in the north where he would meet both the Chinese and Japanese traders and the local population of Pangasinan would start to convert to Christianity.
On 1549, Francis Xavier on Caboloan would write to his fellow Missionaries that are affiliated with the Portuguese would leave some missionaries that accompanied him in Caboloan where they would propagate their religion while he would go further to Japan where he would start his own mission to spread the religion of Christianity there.
After more missionaries arrived on 1551, Francis Xavier with his entourage including his Japanese entourage would go to Japan.
On the 1550s the ruler of Caboloan at that time would be tributaries of the King of Portugal due to the conversion of their population to Christianity by the Portuguese.
The expedition of Pero Fidalgo to Tondo in 1545 was known but that was in Luçon which is a part of Tondo.

Mary the Pious
Mary I would receive the Offer of Philip, Prince of Asturias to marry her she would be excited about the marriage with Philip II.
On 1553, realizing that Pregnancy and consummation of marriage would be difficult and can endanger her life and destroy what she had started and there is a risk that England would be Protestant, she would decide that it would be her sister Elizabeth Tudor who would marry Philip, Prince of Asturias and sent her sister, Elizabeth to Spain to marry Philip, Prince of Asturias.
Elizabeth would arrive in 1554 and married Philip, Prince of Asturias, but she would die in 1557 after a miscarriage, he would remarry to Elizabeth of France who has the same name as his wife, Elizabeth.
Mary I would die on 1580 after destroying traces of her father’s separation from Rome, her niece, Maria of Spain would succeed as Mary II of Spain, Mary I would be known for burning and persecuting Protestants but due to Catholics being the majority she would be remembered as a pious queen.

It has been known that the Portuguese have already landed and proselytize in an island near to the Philippines archipelago which was claimed by the Spanish, apparently the Portuguese have landed in the Island of Tondo which would be said to be a gesture that the Portuguese had won in the struggle to rule the Eastern lands, once Charles V had heard of the fact that there is an area near the Philippines that was colonized by the Portuguese and Charles V would give up the colonization of the Philippines, apparently, the Portuguese would know the value of the Island of Tondo and their tributary relations with Pangasinan as the Portuguese would use it as a stop over to Japan in Dexima and China in Macau, although the Muslims would not be under Portuguese rule, the Portuguese would trade with the Muslims in Tondo which would later form the Sultanate of Selurong and later the Tagalog Republic and later the Portuguese would found the colony of Formosa in the North of the Island of Tondo, the Portuguese would call their colony in Tondo/Selurong as Nova Portugal while their colony in the Island of Formosa is called as Formosa and the Portuguese would also establish Dexima as their own colony.
Due to the Portuguese colonization of the Island of Tondo would cause the Spanish to halt their own attempts to colonize Mollucas and Filipinas, Filipinas which is south of Tondo was discovered by Ferdinand Magellan by 1521 and also visited by Villalobos, the end of the colonization by the Spanish in Filipinas would cause the Christians in Visayas to slowly disappear, the Spanish would wait if Don Carlos will be King of Portugal to do their colonization of Filipinas and Mollucas but the death of Don Carlos prior to the death of Don Carlos in 1568 would put an end to the colonization of the Spanish in the Philippines, the only remnants of the Spanish plans to colonize Filipinas and Mollucas would be the Spanish Pacific possessions like that of Guam which is near the area of Tondo at that time.
It is said by a historian from the Peoples Republic of Japan that the Portuguese relations with Japan in the 1500s is the start of the shift of history of Japan from its old status as an Eastern Monarchy influenced by China to a Socialist/Communist Republic, the Japanese Catholics would be found primarily in Nagasaki and Formosa as majority of the Christians in Japan would be either be merchants in Nagasaki area or descendants of immigrants to Formosa.

After the loss of the chance to gain the Portuguese throne and a presence in the East, Philip II would marry his second daughter Anna to Henry of Navarre in 1570, causing him to be Catholic and gain Upper Navarre and Val de Aran from the Spanish as it is the dowry of Princess Anna which would cause these lands to be under France in a few decades.
Uninterested in women and having children, in 1580, Sebastian I of Portugal would choose Ranuccio Farnese as his heir in Portugal and would educate him as Portuguese who would succeed him in 1600, another thing that he would do is to create peace between the Spanish and the Portuguese by betrothing Margherita Farnese to Philip II and Isabella Clara Eugenia to Ranuccio Farnese, however, Philip II would demand Brazil and Mollucas as the dowry of Margherita Farnese in her marriage to Philip II which was ceded to Spain in 1583 when they married as Brazil and Mollucas would be the price of Philip II recognizing Ranuccio as the heir to the King of Portugal, Margherita Farnese would prove to be an excellent regent for Philip II and Philip III but she would prove to be barren but she would prove be a good politician in Spain as she would have great influence as regent and worked in the best interest of her brother and her step-children.

So in the long run in this scenario, will the Spanish have no possessions in the Indies or western or central Pacific, with the Portuguese being the only Iberians around the Philippines, Micronesia, New Guinea?
Will Spain have all Brazil with Portugal having none of it and no part of the Americas?
That is pretty interesting.
I wonder if a Spanish Brazil, like other parts of Spanish America, would lose its connection to monarchy earlier, and break up into smaller pieces with independence? Indeed, it may not end up named Brazil/Brasil in the first place.

Coronation of Henry IV of France
On 1589, Henry IV of France would become the King of France and united it with the Kingdom of Navarre with France which would last until the Spanish war of succession, he would be accompanied by his wife, Anna of Spain and his surviving son, Jean, Prince of Viana(May 10, 1576) who is now also the dauphin and he would notice that the heiress of the Valois and Brittany, Marie Elizabeth is still unmarried and proceeded marrying Marie Elizabeth and Jean of France on 1590.
Henry IV of France would notice that France had colonies in Brazil named France Antarctique where the protestants would transfer their residences and would become a source of income for the French and they would keep it until the War of Spanish succession.

Spain has Mollucas, Micronesia, and Brazil, although the French are starting to colonize parts of Brazil already as France Antarctique The Portuguese have a near monopoly in the Malay Archipelago and colonies in Africa but no holdings in the Americas. |
