-Muppets creator Jim Henson did not die in 1990 of pneumonia. Instead, he was still alive after 1990 and continued to perform his respective characters on both "Sesame Street" (Ernie, Kermit the Frog, Guy Smiley) and the Muppets (Kermit, Rowlf, Swedish Chef, Waldorf, etc.)
-Richard Hunt did not die of AIDS in 1992 shortly after the new year. Instead, he not only was still alive, but he did not have AIDS. He continued to perform his respective characters on "Sesame Street" (Forgetful Jones, Gladys The Cow, Don Music, etc.) and the Muppets (Scooter, Sweetums, Statler, etc.)
-There were still rumors that Richard was gay, though. Then in May 1992, he officially came out as gay.
-Don Music was not discontinued in 1990. They still continued to make new sketches featuring him where he would "write" a new song, but then at the end, he'd get stumped on the last lyric, be unable to come up with anything, then get frustrated and say "Oh, I'll never get this!" and bang his head on his piano. Then Kermit comes along to help him out and suggest different lyrics.
-Elmo's World does not get introduced in 1998. Although, Elmo's popularity does still grow by the late 90's. But he still doesn't get his own 20-minutes sketch in every episode of "Sesame Street".
-Both Jim Henson and Richard Hunt continue to perform their respective Sesame Street and Muppets characters in the 2000's.
-Frank Oz (Bert, Grover, Cookie Monster, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear) is still with the Muppets full time. Mostly out of loyalty to Jim.
-Unfortunately in 2009, Jim was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. He underwent treatment and for a while, his cancer went into remission. But unfortunately, it came back.
-On May 16th, 2010, Jim Henson died of prostate cancer exactly 20 years after his death in the original timeline. He was 73.
-So the memorial service that was originally held for Jim in 1990 was held in 2010.
-After Jim's death, Kermit no longer appeared on "Sesame Street".
-Steve Whitmire finally took over the voices of Jim's former characters such as Ernie and Kermit.
-Also in 2010, Don Music was discontinued. Parents complained that their kids were imitating his head-banging. So that was why they dropped Don.
-Richard Hunt is still alive today. He still performs Forgetful Jones, but not Gladys. The producers at Sesame Street wanted Gladys to be performed by a woman.
-Frank Oz began to phase himself out of the Muppets shortly after Jim's death. He'd made occasional return appearances. By 2019, he had completely retired from them.
