In September 1990 US, Canada and Western Europe physically disappear, leaving only ex Warsaw Pact countries and ex yugoslavia + Greece in Europe. The countries that disappeared are teleported to another Earth.
What future do you see for the world? Aside from a major economic crisis?
Since Saddam is now in possession of Kuwait, who, if anyone, tries to oust him from there? Israel is still in place but is in deep economic crisis or outright a catastrophe.
List of countries that disappear: - US - Canada - UK and Ireland - France - Spain - Portugal - Italy - Germany - Austria - Denmark - Sweden - Norway - Finland

Also it seems that Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland are still there.

Oh, I forgot them.
The former Eastern Bloc will be the least impacted since they haven't had time to develop economic ties with the west.

Also Lichtenstein, Monaco and San Marino. Also Australia snd New Zealand were left on purpose even of they're culturally a part of the west.

Well its going to bloody chaotic. The two primary powers left are the USSR, which may get a new lease of life and China, which is however still markedly weaker and only partially through its OTL development to economic super-power. Plus of course Japan and the other Asian tigers. India, the Muslim world and Latin America will be other big potential players.
Have the lost lands been replaced by virgin earth territory, i.e. from a world where humanity never developed for some reason but most other things are the same, open sea or what? That will be a factor as a virgin earth switch would open up a rush for claiming the now vacant territory - which could make Mexico a big player in the medium term. Who gets western Europe would be interesting. If replaced by open water which unless the ASB involved permanently suppresses any climatic changes its going to cause some problems.
As JIIIS says Israel would be very exposed. It could go down in a rain of fire, probably nuclear. Similarly Turkey could have some problems as its now without any strong protectors/allies and its the barrier to the Soviets getting out of the Med. On the other hand the USSR is seriously sick and even with the disappearance of its primary opponents it could struggle, especially as its also lost important sources of food and other materials.

There is no virgin land. The landmasses literally disappear.

The Berlin Wall was breached 9 November 1989; there had been much traffic across the Iron Curtain from Hungary to Austria; Hungary had been on a economic footing cooperation with the West since the late 1970's - ever heard of Vodka-Coca-Cola? Poland is still ruled by W. Jaruzelski but the real power is in the hands of the Gdansk Electrician. Ceausescu was executed 25 December 1989. Still NATO-troops in West-Berlin.
There will be a delusion in the Warsaw Pact peoples that their ticket to prosperity have gone. They will still want democracy even if some Stalinists may try to reverse course. Civil war in GDR, Poland, Czechoslovakia? Saddam have just lost his market for oil - he may as well start by incinerate Kuwait. You firmly served to turn the World upside down!

Ouch that is going to throw major climatic wobblies. A lot will change for everybody.
Plus if the land has disappeared it will depend on to what depths and whether water replaces it up to sea level. If not the latter your going to see a lowering of sea levels around the remaining world to fill in the gap. Which could be very bad for most/all ports if they lose their access to the sea.
This is ignoring the political and economic chaos that will be generated. Ugh.
If the 'west' has been transported to a world with no other land it will have some similar issues with adjusting to the climatic changes.

Now i start to think if this thread has the ASB and mass death scenarios rule applied, because in both what remain of Earth and the countries that have been transported to a new world, a lot of people are going to die.

Let's say ASB makes climatic changes a non issue.
