Zyobot ,Still they are complete opposite of their OTL versions and born in states that are the opposite, one was a slave holding state and the other was where slavery was banned.
So a likely POD could be that his father does better in his legal cases and thus remains in the south. So both men are southern born men.
I also want to make this clear. What I'm asking is what if Lincoln was pro-slavery. This in no way means he needs to be crazy fire in the eyes nuts on the matter. Just that he doesn't like the idea of the ending the use of slaves in the union. In our timeline he even says if he could've won the war without freeing any he would've done so. So the idea the war was to end slavery is just nonsense. It was something that was added to it when the war started to turn to the side of the Union. A few less wins and who knows maybe the war ends with slavery lasting a few more years. But to be clear even if the south won a few more battles I still think slavery dies before 1900. The need just wouldn't be there by then. No money in the use when it'll be better cost wise to just ut down the workforce.
Actually not in this case as Lincoln was born in Kentucky in 1809, although the family moved to what became Indiana in 1816. Partly due to issues of slavery but also because land titles were more clearly defined as Lincoln's father lost several legal actions over land rights in Kentucky. The family had moved west from Virginia - their original settlement being up north in Massachusetts - so its possible with different circumstances they could have stayed in Kentucky or moved back to Virginia. This makes it less unlikely that Lincoln might have emerged as a hard line supporter of slavery. One obvious possibility could be that the US does markedly worse in the 1812 conflict and much of the old NW including the Indiana region is lost to British control. Or simply Lincoln's father Thomas is successful in his legal cases.
