This is 3 days before the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. What does US do?
IMO as soon as the info about Franz Ferdinand s assassination comes out, he will cancel his Sarajevo trip and be saved. WW1 is most likely averted for at least several more months.
What can US do to prevent WW1 from erupting later on and how can it change the world to be a better place?

The UN has to be formed so that the Major Powers don't fight each other. Smaller nations should form alliances like NATO. Marshall Plan ASAP. Europe needs Prosperity to avoid war. Tolkien and Ian Fleming are now super famous. But both have to modernize their movies when they are recreated. Franco is ostracized from society US should force the Ottoman Empire to reform itself or cause a coup. |

Ditto for Germany and Hitler.
Winston Churchill will not be pleased with learning about the end of the British Empire, but I don't think he's that influential yet.
The rest of the world will have to deal with America having a black president. They may actually be more tolerant about it than Americans of the time would have been.
Mao is only 21 at this time so it's unknown what might be done about him.
Is this the entire US or just the 48 states? Alaska and Hawaii are still territories in 1914; Hawaii might be granted independence pending future statehood.
Any ambassadors overseas will most likely have to be recalled & replaced.
The US Navy was occupying Veracruz at this time; the Marines stationed there will most likely be recalled. How many might rebel at the idea of serving under an African American Commander in Chief? Other Americans stationed in what ere then US territories (including the Philippines) will also have to deal with the changes in command and attitudes.
The US might push for the foundation of a Jewish state in what was then Palestine. The Ottoman Empire & many European countries will most likely object.
Obviously the biggest advantage the US will have will be its firepower. A demonstration of modern weapons might be enough to deter other countries from going to war.
