So reading this Article: Soviet B-17s and B-24s i notice that the Soviet Air Force used some RAF and USAAF B-17s that landed in the soviet Union during raid against Germany. No B-17s and B-24s where handed over to the Soviet except those who landed in the Soviet Union, but what if part of the Lend-lease, B-17s and B-24s where transfered in large numbers to the Soviet Air Force, would we see them being used on masive bombing raids against targets like Berlin, would the Soviets design their own version of the B-17 during ore after the war.

Was it from air raids against Germany or against Japan? Know a few operating from China IIRC landed in eastern Siberia after hitting targets in occupied China or Japan and Stalin kept the vehicles. Not sure if any bombers went far enough east to have ended up in Soviet territory during the European conflict and he did refuse to allow forces to fly on to Soviet territory when it was suggested to aid in support of the Warsaw Uprising, which he wanted the Germans to suppress.

They where part of Operation Frantic in OTL. Below a YouTube clip explaining more: But i was thinking if part of the Lend-Lease a large numbers of B-17 where transferred to the soviet Air Force, they could add to the bombing against Berlin and targets in East Germany and German occupied Soviet Union and Poland.

The B-17 is likely to be leased compared to the B-24. Even though they were allies, the U.S. did not want the Soviets to have enhanced capabilities.
Hence why those three B-29s that landed in the Soviet Union caused a headache among War Department officers because the incident went kept under wraps up until the Cold War. It was from there the Soviets were able to reverse engineer those Superfortresses into the TU-4, which surprised the U.S. in 1947.
