Magsaysay not dying in March 1957. Who knows how the Philippines would have progressed? I read one timeline where the Philippines does become an Asian Tiger had Magsaysay lived longer.

How much more affluent? Enough to be another Tiger? More affluent than Argentina. Not as Affluent as Costa rica (Ik rn Argentina has a higher gdp per capita ppp than Costa, but Arg has never been on a trend of sustainable growth, always going through a cycle of boom & bust) |

It makes me wonder would the Philippines economy had been better off if she was allowed to be independent in the early 1900s. Well it’s not feasible and I’m not an expert on the Philippines I could imagine that the Philippines were economically better off under the United States. However I’m not taking into account the protective tariffs which naturally hurt her trade. I think if America had paid more attention to the Philippines and maybe have there been more settlers and the territory of the Philippines would’ve been more affluent.

Ferdinand Marcos does not become President. It should have been him that died in a car accident instead of Patton. Billions of DOLLARS wouldn't be stolen.

Phillipines needs its own version of LKY early in its independence. Massive Birth Control and Immigration Initiatives to boost economy!
Keep in mind that the richer the Philippines gets the poorer the US will become unless Americans are heavily investing and emigrating in huge waves to the Philippines.
Honesly, nothing short of Time-travel (like in Walt Socha's Crossover Series, Conflict #1 Contact #2) would fix the mess the Philippines would be
Well, Chinese exiles back during the Warring States period could settle in the Phillipines building their own civilization. They devote themselves to any kind of scientific experiment to boost their economy and military. They then start the Industrial Revolution and Gunpowder Warfare so they can invade and unite China

First, make William Jennings Bryan president
(He is an opponent of imperialism and wanted the independence and liberation of the Spanish colonies, so the Philippines will be independent and become an independent republic, as well as the independence of Cuba and Puerto Rico as independent and friendly republics without American occupation or annexation)
A free Philippines will help attract British, French, Japanese and German investments as well as the American ones
Assuming that World War I would still occur, the Philippines would gain the German colonies in the Pacific (with the exception of German New Guinea)
World War II continues to happen and the Philippines will win Formosa
Avoiding the fall of President Ramon Magsaysay's plane and completing his term and running for office in 1961
Ferdinand Marcos' record as a Japanese collaborator is exposed and he ends his political career
