I've just seen this mentioned on the cover of New Scientist. There maybe a story type in this. Shifting twice between these dimensions would allow you to loop around the same two patches of time. Do ten years forward, then ten years backward and so on.

Changing dimensions is like nothing I have experience of, but if possible, it might allow you to change direction in time.
