One Idea I had is that the dutch conquest & colonization of Indonesia goes more smoothly than in OTl so they can use gun boat diplomacy like the U.S. did. But considering how often you guys tell me my PoDs are ASB. I'm asking the title first

Weren't there other powers who tried to peacefully open up japan before rick perry? The us congress and even the presidency was much more cooperative , but rick perry was much more willing to go guns blazing and offend Japan en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Westerners_who_visited_Japan_before_1868 so you could have a pod where japans opened up earlier after the diplomat is killed and they wish to avenge his death and mission he sought after |
