Twice Cheated, once a President
On June 1998, Joseph Ejercito Estrada defeated his rivals in the elections, Miriam Defensor Santiago, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo[1], Jose de Venecia, Alfredo Lim, however there are irregularities in the Elections and the Independent Counting had found out that Miriam Defensor Santiago won in the 1998 elections and not Joseph Ejercito Estrada and she was the one who won the presidency, this would be the one that would have caused the EDSA 2 revolution in 1998 putting her as president she said that she was cheated by her rivals Fidel V. Ramos and Joseph Ejercito Estrada in the 1992 and 1998 elections.
Her Presidency would be marred by scandals like her deals with China which in the long run improved the telecommunications of the Philippines and she has promoted the 9PS, Unified Identification System, and K12 as a law, abolished the CAT requirement to finish Highschool, she would also be known for jailing both Joseph Ejercito Estrada and Fidel V. Ramos during her entire term, but she would have Fidel V. Ramos released but not Joseph Ejercito Estrada who would stay in jail in her entire term and released by her own successor.
1. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo does not slide down as Vice President and runs as President instead, Raul Roco does not run as President.

Apologies, All-out war, and Lies
A few months after Miriam was put in Malacanang, Miriam Defensor Santiago by EDSA 2 would encounter a revolt against him which started in EDSA but it was dispersed in Mendiola to free Estrada which they called as EDSA 3, the troops would violently disperse the troops, she said some harsh remarks about the revolt and she would say herself in the television in 1998 that she is sorry about the dispersal and that she lied on her remarks.
In year 2000 after the visit of Bill Clinton she would declare an all-out war against the MILF which would continue until there was an outcry and President Dick Cheney[1] would pressure her to stop her all-out war against the MILF in which she was very successful in.
1. He was the republican nominee not George W. Bush.

On 2004, Raul Rocco would die after he started an electoral protest against Norberto Gonzales which would have been proclaimed the winner, Miriam Santiago would have been angry and sad as it had happened after the death of her son, she would have not acted against the cheating, Loren Legarda would have considered continuing the protest but she would not be able, Norberto Gonzales has been already recognized by President Dick Cheney and met him later in 2005, the elections of Dick Cheney and Norberto Gonzales against Al Gore and Raul Rocco would have looked the same and they would have a stiff anti-communist and conservative presidency which would have contrasted with the liberal Miriam Santiago presidency.
During the elections, the jailed Erap Estrada himself would have been able to try to run as president again but this time he would lose and would not gain a chance to be president despite being pardoned by Cardinal Sin and Cory Aquino herself, although Norberto Gonzales would have released and pardoned him in his term.

Some things never change. Erap would still be able to run in public office even after his arrest and jail time. He did and I detailed further his run. Erap would still be the drunk guy who goes to the office late for work. |
