At 7PM Paris time on July 10, 1940, All French and Francophone territory that would declare for either Vichy or Free France is transported to 7PM Paris time on July 10th 2001. The time winds is a bit mischievous, so Francophone Canada from 1940 comes along as well.

Well its going to cause big issues in Canada, the EU and across much of the 3rd world. FIC is now back instead of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos and I suspect that China would seek to take advantage of that. Much of Africa in the north and Sahel region are going back to the colonial region which will cause a lot of chaos around the world. On the good side a lot of the extreme Islamic reactionaries who have been murdering so many people in recent years have been removed, although those elements in areas such as Northern Nigeria will no doubt seek to expand into those new regions.
Just thought that we have Syria/Lebanon back which will make a significant difference to the balance of power there. Also I think that would mean Israeli lose their military and settlers on the Golan Heights. Plus in the south there is Madagascar and some regions in the S Pacific. Not sure what would happen to I think it was New Caledonia [Not there but somewhere in that region] which was under joint British-French rule.
Just to clarify does that mean that the northern part of France that was under German occupation isn't affected? Which would mean the Biscay coast and most of the north including Paris will still be from 2001.
In terms of Quebec and possibly other areas with a French speaking majority their now back in the early stages of WWII as well so going to be some dislocation there. Going to be a problem for Canada bringing them up to date both technologically and socially.

stevep , Lebanon’s population mix was a lot more Christian in 1940, which will… complicate things. BOTH Vichy *and* Free French areas come along to July 2001 as well as any other Francophone area, such as 1940 Francophone Canada,

Are Taxi 3 and 4 still filmed in Marseille?
Marseille is also the largest port in France and 1940 facilities might not be up to date.
