PS something in my 1st post I just remembered. If any of the SSBN commanders at sea who assumes the sudden loss of all contact with home is as a result of a nuclear attack they could react violently and things turn very bad very quickly.
Wait is that not how British boomer sub captains do it, listen to BBC and if it is not there, then World War III.
I'm not sure what the procedure is for Britain, let alone the US but if all the latter is gone then other than possible fleet units at sea or other nations are the only news. Also while they could listen out for such radio communications that would mean them coming close to the surface as radio waves don't penetrate water very well. Which of course makes them a lot more vulnerable.
Traditionally they used VLF [Very Low Frequency] communications systems to receive information at sea. Seeing the attached Wiki page they need to be pretty damned large to get the required wavelength so think their in the continental US so no longer around. Unless there is a similar British system and they listen to that there could be problems. Of course with any news they do get talking about an 'obviously false' story about the entire country disappearing and being replaced by virgin land how much they believe in such transmission would also be a potential problem. |

Well we also most not forget the several hundreds of thousand civilians and military personal that are out of country when the United States vanished, thus i wonder, who is the highest ranking diplomat/general who in charge of a American government in exile. |

Maybe the mind control ceases once Trump leaves office, though whether that’d be in 2021 or 2025 ITTL, I don’t know. |

Earth has a twin planet around the sun. once a year the twin earths aligns next to each other and each earth can pick up the other earth's television and radio transmission.

I suspect its an actual magazine cover, photo-edited to demonstrate how technological capacities for such falsifications to occur. Recall in the early 80's that Scientific American had a similar one with Monroe and Abe Lincoln arm in arm for a similar purpose.
