So for third time, Alternate Timelines will hold its own annual awards recognizing the best timelines created, in several categories.
Members of this forum will be able to nominate and then vote upon those entries they find to be the most meritorious. The L. Sprague de Camp Awards is named after L. Sprague de Camp, author of novels like Lest Darkness Fall, The Glory That Was and the Science-Fiction Handbook.
Submissions for the L. Sprague de Camp Awards will open on February 1st, 2022, and close on February 28th, 2022.
Polls will then open on March 1st, 2022, and close on March 18th, 2022. The L. Sprague de Camp Award winner(s) will then be announced on March 20th, 2022 and given a one of a kind award showing that they have been awarded a 2022 L. Sprague de Camp Award.
So here are the Rules and Categories so far for the 2022 L. Sprague de Camp Awards
The Rules:
I: The timeline must have been worked on in the period of November 2021 to February 29th, 2022 to be able to nominated for the award (This does not apply to Finished Timelines).
II: Self-nominations are allowed but the best is to have somebody else to recognize and nominate another’s work for recognition.
III: An author may remove their work from consideration for the award: If this occurs, the individual who nominated the abstained work may make another nomination.
IV: An author may have no more than two timelines nominated in one category.
V: An author may only have nominations in one category; thus an author who has been nominated in more than one category can, before the polls are open on March 1st, 2022, pick the category he/she feels has the best change to win.
V:: Timelines whose Authors have been banned will remain applicable; this also includes Finished Timelines.
VI: if there are no timelines that fit Rule I, then the award for that category will not be awarded.
