I meant wonker perhaps bribed the immigration authorities or possibly had the president or British government leaders to Parden them or like I said previously had done the legal way. I know we are using the 2005 version however some of the original is good too. We could really go done the rabbit hole, but I like realism. I wonder how communist countries would handle these bars particularly Kim jong un. Not just middle class famlys would enjoy them ,but early on I could see poorer classes because a candy bar is usually around $1.00. I wonder when in winter does this event happen in Britain. In January that's when the economy's is at its worst after Christmas. The modern real world the replicates are never as cool as the real thing. I think it was the grandfather's fault with the floating bubble ceiling not Charlie. Also augustes didn't become a piece of Choclate he was just covered in it. Mike tv I would argue got the worst of it

Mike tv I would argue got the worst of it Since it was children's book, there are a lot of holes to poke in the real-life setting. I don't think Wonka's factory could operate without labor or OSHA compliance. The replicates can never get the movie props right.

Before we argue whether the Oompa-Loompas are pygmies: Consider that Willy Wonka is the only one who claims he found them in Loompaland. Hell, the one mother (in the book) says she's a geography teacher and doesn't know such a country. Who says he didn't breed them with super-science and hand-waved where they come from? After all, they speak (or rather, sing) fluent English.

Another thing to add is that charlie didn't eat much if any of the candy at the edible room, and I wonder why he's a poor kid and it would have been realistic if he had eaten some of the candy in the room. The grandpa should be like "charle will you please bend down and pick that candy up or get us a lolly pop". instead, skinny charlie decided to be skinny by not eating candy when he had the biggest opportunity too. I bet that wonker even had edible candy with an edible wardrobe

That's part of his characterisation as the only non-rotten kid, I guess.

After all, they speak (or rather, sing) fluent English. In the 2005 film, it was Mike Teavee's father who is the geography teacher. Considering the setting of everything, I wouldn't be surprised if sci-fi is involved. The sequel to the book is the Great Glass Elevator which includes space travel and aliens. Another thing to add is that charlie didn't eat much if any of the candy at the edible room, and I wonder why he's a poor kid and it would have been realistic if he had eaten some of the candy in the room. That's part of his characterisation as the only non-rotten kid, I guess. Definitely.

Going down the rabbit hole 🕳️ at least in this context isn’t necessarily bad. In my opinion, Willy Wonker was working with the government, and the government didn’t disclose this information to the public. After all the government could keep workers secrets in exchange for his technological innovations and possibly warehouses

For reference sake, let us use the 2005 version which is one of my favorite family musical films. Of course, the POD would date back to 1950s/60s since Grandpa Joe worked in the factory when he was younger. In this world, the Wonka Factory would be the leading candy brand in the world, outclassing Hershey's, Nestle, Ferrero Rocher, and Cadbury to name a few. Wonka even built a chocolate palace for an Indian prince (I guess this was before 1947?). Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Prince Pondicherry's PalaceCome by 2005, Willy Wonka suddenly has announced the five golden tickets that would grant five children to enter his factory. We saw how the craze would look like as millions around the world tried to get their luck on the golden ticket. Now if that happened in real-life, what would the impact be on the economy and pop-culture? What happens after Willy Wonka gives Charlie Buckett and his family the factory? How would the Chocolate Factory be like by 2021? Would the grown up Charlie Buckett make it into a tourist attraction? Leave your thoughts below. Videos for reference: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - The Factory ReopensCharlie and the Chocolate Factory - The Four Rotten ChildrenIt is possibly that it could have been built post indepdence, becausse while the Indian royality may not have official titles, but they are wealthy. I Rember the Indian prince lost much if not all of their political power during British imperialism. well it would not surprise me if wonker could sell giant easter chocolate eggs or chocolate Christmas trees life size edition. It wouldn't surprise me if on easter wonker might issue choclate resurrection tombs. perhaps there is a church in for his Olbia lombias after all they are from latian america ,but i dont suggest the book ever goes that in depth just as the church for the beverly hillbillys is never mentioned though it doesent matter

Another thing to point out is that wonker should have been sued by the damages done by the rotton childrin and could have because the kids never sighned anything.I wonder if wonkier had considered healthy candy in this age of obesity. In america and the rest of the world our waistlines are swelling not shrinking.

Wonka (and then maybe Charlie and his father) would have run afoul of labor laws, child safety laws, health codes, and changes in diet today. I kind of lean towards the oompa Loompas as being some sort of alien refugees given asylum on Earth in exchange for their advanced food making and video shrinking technology.

In america and the rest of the world our waistlines are swelling not shrinking. Kids never pointed out. Only later, did we realize that Wonka was in deep shit with the law. Interestingly, that fanfic covers the trauma that Veruca Salt had to face as a 25 year old in 2021. Even Charlie still gets PTSD from the scene where Veruca was dragged down that hole by the squirrels. I'd agree to this. If we were to go the sequel The Great Glass Elevator, there were aliens in it.

Aliens? The government covering up everything? Even if the sequel didn't say the Oompa-Loompas were aliens, it'd work.

I'm gonna revive this thread since the new Wonka (2023) film came out.
Although it seems to be a prequel of the 1971 version rather than the 2005 Tim Burton musical.
As usual, the setting of the timeframe seems to be an ISOT bubble as some areas look like 1920s but others look advanced.

I was reading the book, Charlie and the chocolate factory and it does appear that that the whole chocolate bar craze after Christmas and ends on February 1st. This tactic is a brilliant move which would improve the economy. I could imagine that many businesses would allow people to work overtime so they can have more money to spend on chocolate.
In some parts of the world, I could see Wonka bars, being used as currency. Given Willy Wonka’s ability, I bet he could make toot sweets that don’t taste like tootsie rolls. I could imagine even some restaurants decide to sell these Wonka bars . With such a fad of Wonka bars, I could imagine that some stores would have to sell candy bars that are NOT from the Willy Wonka factory at half price as they have trouble selling them.
Perhaps Wonka would come up with an idea of , silver tickets where are the winners could go to the factory and just enjoy the tour or perhaps maybe just enjoy a truckload of chocolates perhaps, such as a pick up trucks worth of candies

Interesting facts chocolate by wonka is cheap enough for even poor people to eat in the book and movie. In the older times chocolate and sugar was for the wealthy to consume.
