A thanks ,never heard of them. The Makapili is more of a secret police than an armed forces group. After the war, traitors were called out and shunned by society. If the Japanese did establish a puppet armed forces, I guess it would number around 20,000 - 50,000. But they would be stretched thin fighting resistance around the islands.

They would be patterned just like the Thai Armed Forces and the Manchus.

Most likely would go to units who had already blood on their hands, thus making them loyal to the Japanese who i think do not want to see tanks going to Philippine resistance movement.

Tanks were more of a trophy than an actual asset by the resistance who often used hit-and-run tactics against the Japanese. The resistance mainly fought in the jungles ala Vietnam War-style hence why Japan never fully controlled the archipelago. There are word-of-mouth accounts of Filipino guerrillas utilizing captured Type 95s, 97s, and 89s against the Japanese but no written record exists. It's very likely only the guns were used as most of the resistance are not trained to operate guns.

So any Japanese-sponsored Philippine Republic Army tank will most likely be used to parade around Manila and be ether seized by the Japanese when the United States begins its invasion ore send to die in a hail of bullets by the Japanse.

I would think that the tanks seized by the Japanese during the conquest of the Philippines would have been utilized more by their own forces rather than given to the puppet Philippine military. Moreover, there's always the fear of desertions or defections to the resistance forces.

The Japanese had enough fuel issues for themselves, let alone their puppet forces. As a general rule, you do not give tanks and artillery to puppet forces, as that then puts them on an equal standing.

Additionally, the tanks the Japanese seized after Bataan surrendered were in terrible shape. They hadn't been overhauled in months and were worn out. The best thing they could do with those tanks is take the turrets off and use them for fixed emplacements and scrap the hulls.
