This is the Order of Battle for the Allied counteroffensive into the DPRK. Several ROKA corps' have been pulled off of the line because of heavy casualties while others remain as a strategic reserve to counter the (remote) possibility of PLA intervention on the part of the DPRK. Major US forces deployed include I Marine Expeditionary Force and the headquarters of I Corps, along with corps assets and the 1st Cavalry, 3rd Infantry & 25th Infantry Divisions as well as an airborne task force centred on the 25th Infantry Division's 4th Airborne BCT. As well as the US & ROK, Britain, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, France, Canada and Poland are all contributing forces, which will be detailed in a further update. Special Operations Forces are not featured here but will be mentioned later.

You would assume that most of the NATO members would be fighting under the UN flag in Korea.

You would assume that most of the NATO members would be fighting under the UN flag in Korea.

Not quite. While the UK, France & Poland are deploying forces, they all have reasons outside of NATO. Poland is currying favour with the US, UK & France with its deployment, while the UK and France have their own reasons including regional allies and overseas territory. The rest of NATO would prefer to keep out of the potential quagmire, but their is potential for small supporting contingents such as medical units and combat engineers to deploy. That said, given their contributions in the first Korean War, I could forsee a few NATO powers in Europe sending battalion-sized task forces. I'll have to think on it.

I would agree that the rest of the European allies are unlikely to provide much if anything. Especially if there's no UN mandate as OTL - which would depend on the stance of China and Russia. Also suspect that as gillan1220, says there would be aid from the Philippines. Not sure what the reaction of Japan would be - or of SK if Japan offers ground troops. Taiwan might also offer aid but I suspect that Washington would seek to quietly decline that as it would be too explosive in terms of Beijing.

Japan would play defensive here. Deploy the JMSDF and JASDF to monitor incursions of North Korean jets, ships, subs, and ballistic missiles. Since Japan has numerous Aegis DDGs, this would come in handy in defending the Home Islands from ballistic missiles. However, Japan cannot send boots to the ground in Korea because that would likely stir up some infighting with the South (take it like Israel about to retaliate to Iraq in response to the SCUD missiles, the coalition feared that the alliance might break apart should Israel have joined). Remember, South Koreans are still angry on what Japan did to them in the 20th Century.

Taiwan would be limited to monitoring their airspace and maritime borders. Not enough to stirr the PRC but enough to say "We're observing what's going on there but we're not gonna lower our guard."

The likely allies the U.S. have in the region is Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and India.
