What if the Spanish failed to get Northern Luzon due to a change in politics in the island prior to Spanish coming and instead the Spanish annex Borneo and its sultanates,
how would that effect Spain in the long run?

A Spanish Indonesia maybe, if they can compete with the British, Dutch and Portuguese that is. |
