So, I thought its probably time I start a more traditional TL rather then what I've done before. So, here we go.
1944
Operation Overlord is working successfully, and the Anglo-American force is steadily advancing toward Berlin. In the meantime out East, the Soviets have finally joined the war against Japan. Their forces are marching south through Korea and they are excepted to land in Japan sometime in early 1945.
1945
Berlin, Tokyo, and Rome surrender. A Peace conference is called between the allies and the axis in March in Toronto, Canada. Republican governments are set up West of Germany, Communist ones east of Germany. In Asia, Japan and Korea are split North-South between the United States and Soviet Union in occupation zones. Secretly, the US completes the Manhattan Project.
1946
Fighting between the Republic of China and People's Republic of China resumes, with the Soviets now backing the Communists. Plans for African decolonization are drafted in the Pittsburgh Conference.
1947
The PRC is victorious over the ROC. They unify with the Soviet Union to the shock of the world. An emergency conference is called in London.
1948
In the London Conference, the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and Portugal form the Atlantic Confederacy. The first election in the A.C. is held in November, with former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill elected President and director of Operation Overlord, Dwight D. Eisenhower, elected VP.
1949
The Constitution of 1948 takes effect completely, the Atlantic Confederation sets up a executive capitol in London, a legislative capitol in Washington D.C., and a Judicial Capitol in Rome. The Atlantic Confederation meets with Latin American countries and independent countries in Africa, Asia, and Oceania and unities them into two nations, the Latin American League and Indian Ocean Confederation.
1950
Soviet Union and Atlantic Confederation form a buffer state out of Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, the Balkans, Greece, Libya, Egypt, ad Finland. The State of Israel and Palestine and the State of Mecca and Medina are formed as autonomous religious zones. Soviet Union annexes US Korea (South Korea) in exchange for Soviet Japan (Northern Japan).
1951
The Soviet develop a nuclear weapon. The first political parties in the Atlantic Confederation form, the Conservative Republican Party lead by Winston Churchill and the Democratic Liberal Party, lead by Harry S. Truman.
1952
By a wide margin, Churchill and the Conservative Republicans defeated Truman and the Democratic Liberals. Civil Rights legislation is passed.
1953
Attempted revolt in Cuba is suppressed by the Latin American League. Tensions between the Soviets and the Atlantics rise.
1954
Soviets invade Finland. The Atlantic Confederation declares war on the Soviets. The L.A.L. and I.O.C. follow suit. Land wars in the Middle East, Korea, Poland, and southeast China begin.
