Oh. Yes, my apologies. The UK, Switzerland, Norway, and Poland are the only countries in Europe who don’t federalize. This being said, starting in 2012, Russia begins the process of annexing Ukraine and Belarus, so they aren’t part of the EF. Iceland stays out too, but they aren’t really thought of as Europe anymore. So, anything else you 2000ers want to know? US annexation of Cuba? Second Chinese Civil War? The time an inventor was elected president on a third party? The situation in Asia? Anything?
Well another Chinese civil war sounds very messy. Even without use of WMDs its likely to be very bad with the fatalities in the millions if not more.
Fatalities, yes. WMD, no. When the trouble really started in Tibet, Uigher, Hong Kong, and Manchuaria, China threatened to push the nuclear button. The rebels called there bluff. Same with the Second Korean Conflict, both in 2042. The PRC fell apart, ironically, from manpower issues, and the ROC gained control of the mainland. Independence groups all won out, save Korea, where Manchuria, PDRK, and ROK became the ROC. Much of the discontent had been brewing for centuries, but really started after the Great Earthquake of 2020, which killed 300 million in China (600 mil world wide)

That last is one hell of an earthquake. I could see something more local being devastating, especially if it took out the Three Gorges Dam, for China but without political impacts I wouldn't have expected something that massively large.

It was caused by a fault line being artificially built over the course of the 2010s in secret from Yellowstone to the Pacific to stop any potential eruption. The earthquake was directly caused by what was supposed to be a Yellowstone Eruption but ended up shifting the Pacific plate 3 inches Eastward. It did take out Three Gorges, and it brought all of East Asia to its knees. Not to say California wasn’t hurt too, LA nearly collapsed and San Francisco was an island for a few days.

I'm not sure how you artificially build a fault line other than possibly a lot of nukes! Sounds like it somehow stopped a big Yellowstone but diverted most of the power and destruction to E Asia.

Basically, but they used the nukes deep underground to avoid the threats of other powers. China was ticked when they found out, to say the least.

I'm not surprised given that, intentionally or otherwise they basically exported the disaster to China and neighbouring areas. I can't see any way this could be done secretly, as apart from being illegal there are too many sensors who would pick up such activity.

Anyone who figured out was paid off. Similar to when the world found out Iran, Japan, Canada, and Brazil all had nukes in the 2027 Nucleogate scandal.

What's the population of the Moon and Mars at the start of the 22nd centuryu ?Its grown a lot since the last census. Somewhere in the 50,000-100,000 range. The colonies are pretty small for now, though the current administration has set a goal to get 1 million people on the moon by 2120. Even the largest lunar colony, New Dallas, has a population of around 500.

As of 2000, the world population is around 6 billion. What is it in 2100, and which countries have the highest populations?

FWIW, I really like this thread.

Well, the ability to grow plants without the atmosphere using the oxygen in Mars’s soil helped a lot. Those same pieces of tech helped create Nitrogen and Oxygen air on Mars. Faster flight helped too, although with heavy jet lag.

I keep seeing references to "the United Kingdom". I assume this means it doesn't break up completely - so, do any parts of it obtain independence?
