The US is giving Indonesia some serious side eye while sighing and pulling out the playbook for Pacific War 2: Electric Boogaloo Wich will draw in the Soviets. Not unless someone does something really stupid, like sink a Soviet warship. The USSR is willing to help Indonesia as its in their geopolitical interests. But they have neither the intention or the desire to fight a war for them.

So Indonesia might up facing not only the Netherlands but also the United States and Australia while the Soviet Union can sit back happy that there is a new war that will draw in allied resources and manpower.

Doubtful. Article 5 of the NATO charter does not apply to West New Guinea. So the United States has no requirement to help the Netherlands. Nor does Australia, though it may be in their interests to do so. The United States will obviously have an interest in what's going on there, but like the USSR probably won't want to actually fight them.

The US was not going to fight for someone else's colonial empire (or what's left of it). They may threaten and bluff, but the odds of actually fighting are very low. MAYBE some low level air strikes in support of Dutch operations.

They could, but the Netherlands doesn't really have much they can send Some F-84Fs from the United States with pilots flown over from the Netherlands. They've got Hawker Hunters they can send if they need to. And a carrier that can get them there in one piece.

They can but as you already have said, Egypt will not allow them most likely to use the Suez Canal which will force any Royal Netherlands Navy task force to do a round trip which might take weeks while in the mean time Indonesia can dominate the battlefield.

F-84s aren't getting there any faster though. And don't forget, at the moment, the Dutch are massively outclassed in the air over West New Guinea. They're still flying Gloster Meteors while the Indonesians are flying MiG-17s and -19s.

I know you will neither confirm it, but i just have to ask, any plans for air to air battle in the next updates. Also seems you are if nothing goes wrong heading towards winning the 2021 L. Sprague de Camp Awards Poll: Best Alternate History Timeline.

All the Meteor pilots can do is to make the Migs operate at the limit of their range, then to bounce them.
Do the Dutch have any SAMs at all, like HAWK or Bloodhound?

Well it will not end well for the Netherlands would be my guess, they are outnumbered and i do not know how the Hunters will fare against the Migs that are flown by the Indonesians.
