If that happens unlike OTL then the relations between the United States and Indonesia will be very frosty. Only country who befits from it is the Netherlands who unlike OTL does not have to worry that the United States chose Indonesia over them in the New Guinea conflict. That was actually his OTL sentence. |

RIP WWII aircraft, Allen Pope, and also future USN budgets... With 8 reactors per ship, even more than Nimitz OTL fleet this Enterprise fleet will be expensive, maintenance included. There were good reasons OTL that they waited a decade to build Nimitzs. Yup. This looks like a huge win for the USN. Until you realize that it will likely cost $900 million for both ships when the projected cost was only $600 million. And the Navy wants 41 SSBNs. And a bunch of new aircraft. And a whole lot of new missile armed escorts. Including a bunch that are nuclear powered. So yeah, the Navy's shipbuilding budget is pretty much wrecked. |

The reactors weren't powerful enough to go with only 2 like the Nimitz class. But to put it in perspective, Enterprise could reach flank speed on just 4 reactors. She only needed to bring the others online to provide enough steam to launch aircraft. |

She was CV-63. The Navy just reordered America to the newest conventional design they had to get her in the water as fast as possible. The next hull number available is 67, but whether she'll be CVA or CVAN? You'll just have to keep reading. |

The Navy just reordered America to the newest conventional design they had to get her in the water as fast as possible. The next hull number available is 67, but whether she'll be CVA or CVAN? You'll just have to keep reading. A thanks for the explanation, it is hard to keep track on US carrier if you do not know it, its is even harder when there are US carrier being build in a TL like this. |
