  Interesting and never heard of this before but could have made for a big change in British politics and leadership.  Assuming Eden would have taken over as the new PM but not sure how different he would have been as a leader during the war.  He wouldn't have had the same prestige as Churchill had built up after 1940 but might have had wiser leadership so who knows?

  Well definitely no surrender as both the USSR and US were in the war but it would have drastically changed the political situation inside the UK and in terms of its relations with the US, the commonwealth and assorted other states.

  Who knows?  He won't have the same influence that Churchill had or the eloquence I suspect but might have somewhat better judgement, which tended to be Winston's weak point.  Not sure how he would fare with Roosevelt or Stalin.  As a more moderate leader he might even win the post war election?
