  I got a bit confused by the title referring to the vehicle as the American T-34 Tank as thinking it was some US version of the Soviet tank.  However interesting ideas although not sure that tanks were the right vehicles, as it restricts their other activities while also being very high - not what you want with a tank.  Suspect a vehicle mounted unit such as the Germans developed is better overall as it gives a dedicated unit that can move quickly to relocate and can be kept out of the front line.

  I knew the basic details but very interesting.  Like the idea of the impact on the troops hearing their landing at a location called Massacre Bay!

  That is formidable.  The twin 5" launchers look rather comical, a bit like some sort of cartoon train front to me but were obviously very successful.
