On today's WWII post you have
This is when the RLA was finally formed as the Germans were getting desperate for manpower but Vlasov had been trying to form such an organisation from 1943 and it was only now that Himmler [in Sept 44] and Hitler [in Nov] allowed such a formal organisation. However the Germans had been distributing calls from him and other generals for Soviet POWs and forces in unoccupied areas to defect for quite a while and picked up a lot of recruits which had served in German forces. See Vlasov's defection for more details including.

And you've done it! Congrats! Thinking about it would it be practical to have a sticky thread which goes to a directory containing all the completed day-by-day threads rather than have the in the main section but getting further and further from the front page as time goes on? If it's a peoblem don't bother but thinking it gives a single point of access, easily available if anyone wants to look up something in coming years. Steve
A good idea, will create one.

Since you mentioned this in the WW2 thread: "The Japanese 11th Army, acting independently and against orders, drives across the Kwangsi-Kweichow border although it has been ordered to halt at the border."
I wonder now what'd happen to a Japanese commander who acts against orders, but in a successful way. Would they still punish him, or promote him?

US Civil War thread, November 7th: You mentioned the "USS San JACUNTO". Pretty sure that's supposed to be Jacinto.

Lordroel I think in today's WWII post under the Pacific heading there is a small duplication. The 1st entry is
then further down you have
Given they have identical locations I think this is the same incident but with slightly different details.

On today's WWII thread there appears to be a duplication related to events in Burma. You have.
Also something I've been thinking about for a while. Don't know what other people think but I don't find the map your been displaying of the western front that useful. It was for the initial fighting around Normandy as it covered a small enough area for details to be clear. Since the front has expanded, especially the last month or two when its been from the North Sea to the Swiss Border the fairly small and tightly packed text and images I find very difficult to see. Part of the problem is I suspect the original is both in colour and probably a large one covering a table area so having it in black and white and as a small image makes things very dense. [Possibly true I'm in my 60's and the eyes are definitely a lot poorer than they were but would be interested to know whether other people have the same problem?] I find the other map of the western front today a lot clearer as the text and images are a lot larger and its markedly less cluttered. If you could get more copies of that for other days that would be much preferred.

Will edit the problem. Regarding the map, true not much happens in it but I still find it useful.

From Twitter (X), as it related to a realtime project posted here: "From a lonely watch on the German-Danish border, 1 December 1915" - A German gendarm guarding the border between Denmark and Prussia near Holt-Fårkrog. I don't know what I love the most - the coat, the pipe or the mustache?

Hi everybody, going to announce that the Korean War (1950 – 1953) in Real Time will be on hold and not start this year, while i have completed already many days i want to focus 2024 on completing World War II in real time and work more on the Civil War in real time, also i want to work more on the Korean War (1950 – 1953) in Real Time as it seems to be a little bit more difficult to get day to day updates for it that does not include only the US air force ore Navy involvement in the conflict.

No problem. Your pretty damned busy anyway so good to make sure your not overloaded and would be great to get a wider view of the Korean conflict.
