The trolls double posted two days at once. OK thanks. I'm reassured about my sanity. Never came into my mind regarding your sanity, cannot speak about the trolls.

Lordroel I think there's a typo in today's WWII post. You have: Those numbers don't add, the assorted types add up to 333. I suspect the number of Lancaster's is much larger and a digit is missing, probably that the number of Lancs should be 428?
Otherwise looks fine.

Dear @lordroel I've to admitt that I'm 1. to lazy and 2. don't have the time (RL interferes) to scan through 94 pages to find a possible answer for my question.
So here it comes: In "The Great War (1914-1918) in real time in the 'Events by hours' posts about of 31st July to 4th August ... what 'time' did you use? Everthing in CET time? ... or GMT time? ... or always 'local' time (though at some points it might be unclear where this 'local' migth be)?
Another question: If I have some opiniuons/ideas by some sources differing from what you've posted ... or IMHO worthwhile 'additions' of possible 'rectifications' ... posting it here?

... like Day 4 of the Great War, July 31st 19141530: Germany demands that France declare neutrality and surrender the fortresses of Toul and Verdun as guarantees of neutrality. 15:30 CET-Berlin: Telegram with german question about possible neutralitiy sent to ambassador in Paris. The added demand of temporary surrender of the fortresses of Toul and Verdun in case of a 'positive' answer is not brought to the french sides knowledge by v.Schoen.

A good question, mostly I use the time that is used in the Netherlands, but I will check it out.

Lordroel In today's USCW thread you have a line. Not sure what you mean by roiled? Is it a typo for something else, like recoil?
Otherwise looking good. Seems strange we're within 10 days of the end of WWI. Its been such a part of my life for the last 4+ years reading the events and reports and realising in more detail how destructive it was in so many ways. There will be a strange gap in my life in a few days. Many thanks for all your work on that project.

Sorry for the late responds. First think you are right, it schould be recoil, will edit it. And secondly, the Great War in realtime has also been part of my life, I hope that everybody like the daily updates as much I loved making them.

On today's report on the Trent Affair in the USCW I didn't realise how close it came to being far more serious. But for Fairfax's restrain on his commander you could have had a clear clash between the British sailors and the marines or even Wilkes seizing the ship. Suspect that if either had occurred it very likely would have been war very quickly.
On the WWII post, near the end there is a misplacement. You have:
The 11th AF may be operating in the Alaska area but the RAF attack definitely isn't and is something from the bombing of Germany.

A great read in terms of the information imparted but deeply depressing a lot of the time because of the nature of the subject. Many thanks for all the work on it over the last 4+ years.

On Leyte Island, fighter-bombers attack targets near Linao and hit shipping south of Ormoc. On Cebu Island, B-25s and fighter-bombers attack Lahug and Opon Airfields. 〈insert pop-up content here〉 On Leyte Island, fighter-bombers attack targets near Linao and hit shipping south of Ormoc. On Cebu Island, B-25s and fighter-bombers attack Lahug and Opon Airfields. 〈insert pop-up content here〉Lahug Airfield is now a site of a business, IT and nightlife park in modern day. It's now known as IT Park because of the number of BPO companies. There are still tons of ordinances that are unearthed in what was once Lahug Airfield. The most recent incident was in December 2017, which caused the entire block to evacuated, disrupting jobs at that time. Lahug Airfield was also the site wherein President Ramon Magsaysay's plane took off before crashing in Mount Manunggal in March 1957. While Opon Airfield would become Mactan Air Base which was built in the Cold War to house USAF flights during the Vietnam War. In November 2013, it became the base of multinational C-130s, military personnel, and civilian aid personnel during the Typhoon Haiyan relief ops. Around the same time, the An-225 Mriya l anded in Mactan Air Base to deliver a huge generator to a power plant in Batangas. Sadly, Mriya would be destroyed 9 years later. In April 2014, Mactan AB was designated as an EDCA site by the late President Noynoy Aquino and President Barrack Obama during 44's state visit to Manila. Come by 2023, Mactan AB would host P-8A Poseidons, F-22A Raptors, and A-10 Thunderbolts during air exercises.

Thinking about it would it be practical to have a sticky thread which goes to a directory containing all the completed day-by-day threads rather than have the in the main section but getting further and further from the front page as time goes on? If it's a peoblem don't bother but thinking it gives a single point of access, easily available if anyone wants to look up something in coming years.
