So did you know that Karl Marx almost emigrated to Texas, well according to the article that is linked he applied to the Mayor of Trier, his birthplace, for an immigration permit. He instead headed to Paris where he began a study of political economy that would ultimately result in Capital. So what if he went to Texas and spread his ideas to the people of what was then Republic of Texas, could it have survived, ore would he just be known as the German-Texan who wrote the Communist Manifesto

I can't really see his views, for a highly populated urban society applying in a rural slave holding society like Texas, either as an independence republic or part of the US. That is assuming he developed those ideas as not sure what the timing of such a migration would be. [Sometime between 1835 and 1845 IIRC but what Marx's views would be at that time I don't know.] If he did have such ideas the only elements of the Texan population its likely to appeal to might be the black slaves or the largely excluded Mexican population so he could end up being hung or shot by some of the local Anglos.

There were almost 10,000 Germans in what became the German Hill Country, a dozen counties in the area north of San Antonio and west of Austin. They were mostly early leftists, socialists, freethinkers, proto communists and anarchists, anti slavery, setting up communes, and signing the peace Treaty of Meusebach with Comanches.
So it seems very plausible to me his writings would have local appeal. But how good an organizer and speaker was Marx?

Well that could have given him a basis of support for his OTL views, although they may have been somewhat different given the much different social circumstances. The question is whether he would have had a lasting legacy or just been remembered as one of the leaders of a left wing movement in the region that was probably quickly squashed by the Texan or American forces. Although it could have led to a lasting influence if it inspired others in the US later on or possibly an US socialist terrorist movement.
Don't really know about his abilities as an organiser or speaker but do get the feeling he's more of an ideas man who might inspire rather than lead.

He settles in West Texas where his ideas go nowhere and thus do little, if any, wider damage in the world at least.

Which since he was meeting a need, in terms of the appalling conditions of the working populations in many countries, industrial or otherwise, what ideas replace his? Probably no way of telling.
