Here's another YouTube video, this time by Vologda Mapping. It chronicles the (mostly) geopolitical history of the galaxy from its initial formation during the Big Bang to just about the most recent Canon era as of when I'm posting this.

Hopefully, this YouTube video by Star Wars Explained should suffice.

Interesting, especially noticeably being the oddity of Hutt space being apparently unchangeable for millennium, including defeating the 1st republic, then expanding and being forced back a bit.
Also that the 2nd empire lasted, albeit in declining form, for about two decades after the death of the emperor.

I suppose it's more that Old Sheev always avoided assassination until Vader quite literally overthrew him while his back was turned.

Over 1 trillion with a human majority for the Canon iteration, if Wookieepedia is to be believed. That number looks to be essentially the same for the Legends version, though percentages of which species appear to vary.

I wonder if there are more worlds like Coruscant--as in, planets almost entirely covered in bustling, overpopulated metropolises--that exist in the Star Wars universe. I'd guess that more exist, at least statistically speaking.

Have found this: Interesting video, albeit with some numbers that seem to contradict those presented by Wookieepedia in the case of Coruscant. I'd have thought there'd be at least thousands of trillion plus-person planets located throughout the galaxy, though.

I think there might be, but we do not know of them as they have not been mentioned yet.
