Here's another one, this time a montage of live-action lightsaber fights with iconic, though remixed background music.

Though it's a fictional universe and therefore not to be taken too seriously, some committed Star Wars fans have noticed something peculiar about our favorite galaxy from a long time ago, and a place far, far away. Namely, millennia of galaxy-wide technological stagnation.

Perhaps, though other, actually hard sci-fi universes that take place on a similar (or even smaller) scale have achieved far more impressive things. For example, the online Orion’s Arm Universe Project features AI gods, Dyson spheres, and gravitational beams that literally destroy the universe as they move, just to name a few.

I suspect they and other options such as Ringworld's don't as otherwise their capacity for supporting huge populations and probably trade and industrial capacity they would probably dominate the economy and politics of the galaxy.
With AIs I suspect, other than director's fiet because it wouldn't fit in with what they want possibly the importance of religion, i.e. both sides of the force, has lead to moral bars on such development. Also although unlikely it may simply be impossible to develop true independent AIs.
Since there are other 'nations' than the republic/empire in the galaxy and previous conflicts between many of there I would agree with Zyobot that technological progress, in weaponry and elsewhere should be more rapid.

Seems i was wrong, there is one in the Iokath systemIndeed, though its veracity for the time being is a) confined to Legends and b) a technological feat that none of the main Star Wars factions can pull off without some serious help from ASB. As for the point that stevep made about advanced A.I.s, while they don't reach the same scale and scope of those found in Orion's Arm, exist in far larger numbers than was depicted in the Original Trilogy. Recall that in addition to the various astromechs, caretaker, hard labor, maintenance and medical droids commonplace throughout the Galaxy, commerce guilds like the Trade Federation employed huge droid armies and formidable star fleets to protect their holdings. With the Separatist Alliance going further by fielding maybe the largest and most diverse mechanical fighting force in galactic history during the Clone Wars.

Good point. I was thinking of them as more robots with limited independent capability for action rather than true AI but probably wrong as never seen the films for the 1st period. Plus of course there are C-3PI and R2D2 of course, one of which definitely showed a fair level of intelligence.

Since his channel's back online and he released a new versus video today, here's Jensaarai1's latest publication concerning an ancient Jedi battlemaster facing off against a more contemporary, cybernetic Jedi killer.

It’s a shame we only got to see one Jedi Master who bore that title once in SWTOR (though he might’ve made appearances in tie-in media that I’m unaware of).
