Well I've never played Minecraft but assuming there is a significant character known as Steve there?

As such, you'd wake up in a randomly generated Minecraft world, with Steve being the body you inhabit. Since you've never played, I suppose we can have you start with the Legacy Console Edition tutorial. You'd have the option to skip it completely, but I'd strongly advise completing it all the way through.

OK thanks for clarifying. I'm a bit too busy fighting off Orcs, Angmar remnants and probably soon Dunlendings at the moment however.

The one I mentioned is DAC [Divide and Conquer] a Middle Earth game based on Medieval II Total War, see DAC discord page. There are IIRC 26 different nations you can play, either evil, good or neutral. A number aren't really in the books such as the Remains of Angmar which was wiped out about a millennium back or some of the nations in the north east, each with their own characteristics, special units economic and other rules. Of course there are the big guys such as Gondor, Mordor and the Corsairs for instance - although the latter start off as a horde nation, i.e. with a single [large] wandering army. It takes a lot of time but if anyone's interesting I can give more details. You do need Medieval II but DAC itself is free. Their currently working on v5.0 as opposed to the current v4.6.
Another one I've got drawn back into is AoD [Arsenal of Democracy] which is a WWII game developed from I think it was Hearts of Iron II but is stand alone and totally free. Relatively few players as Paradox no longer formally support it but there are mods using software changes and their working on a new version now. Again I can provide info if anyone's interested. This is not a turn based game like DAC but at least in single player mode you can pause frequently.
The other game, which is the one I play with my mate on a Saturday - although hopefully not this Saturday - is a mod of an ancient game, Master of Orion 2. Can take up to 8 players with AI filling in other slots. A space conquest and exploration game with research, diplomacy etc. [Although on the impossible setting its very difficult to get anything really with any AI because as the blurb say, on that setting "they all hate you". You can still get the base game fairly cheaply from Steam and I can provide info on the mods.
A while back and I might go back to it I noticed a couple of Y-tubers playing what they argued was the hardest total war game there is. That is the original Rome Total War: Barbarian Invasions as the western Roman Empire. Gods that's tough, especially if you trying the pagan rather than the Christian option.
Who, me an addict. Whatever gave you a crazy idea like that.

As another frivolous fandom scenario: ‘Darth Plagueis SI To San Hill’. He was chair of the Intergalactic Banking Clan during the Clone Wars, and with Plagueis possessing his body shortly before the Battle of Geonosis, that gives him an opportunity to throw Sidious’s plans off-course, in retaliation for being betrayed and killed by him about a decade earlier.

Well there's plenty of games out there. I tend to go for the hard strategy games rather than anything that requires good reflections and quick responses. Hence of the games I mention all bar AoD is turn based. However tons more out there. If I had eternal youth, suitable wealth and a 480 hour day - no that's not a typo - I might be able to get familiar with all the games I play, let alone those I was like to add to the list.

Similar to some of the games you mentioned, I've had a light interest in playing Star Wars: Empire at War, though I've yet to get started on it in any meaningful capacity. However, given that we've gone a bit off-track here, I propose carrying this discussion on in the Video Game Thread, if you're still interested. Returning to frivolous fandom scenarios: 'Jar-Jar Binks Becomes Galactic Emperor'. What a fun ride the Galaxy's in for with him at the helm, let me tell you.

I must admit I never got around to seeing the 2nd set of films - in terms of filming 11st in terms of set dates. As such know he's widely reviled by a lot of the SW community, possibly even more than a certain Sith Lord.

By real-world fans, certainly. However, for as much as of walking disaster as Jar Jar is, at least he's not the genocidal and openly evil blend of Hitler and Stalin that Palpatine has shown himself to be. As such, I think you could count on him to greatly liberalize once he replaces his predecessor. How much success he'd have with this in practice is very much debatable, given how a) his klutziness dissuades people from taking him seriously and b) there are plenty of Imperials who'll see him as a usurper with no loyalty to Palpatine's vision of the New Order. Barring suspension of disbelief, I can see an Imperial Civil War breaking out pretty much overnight, perhaps with Governor Tarkin leading the "True Empire", while Jar Jar musters as much support as he can from his more amenable servants and hope that it's enough (which is itself disputable).

Well that's slavery ended quickly, although there will probably be serious 'issues' with US governments, both national and state for a few decades afterwards.

He may be a superb warrior capable of demolishing armies on his own, but I doubt one man could take and hold much territory across the South or fight everywhere at once. Not unless he has his usual detachment of Clone Troopers backing him up, bringing their superior firepower and tactics to bear. Armor and personal weaponry aside, no one really has an answer for their armored vehicles either, with AT-TEs being a massive intimidation factor all their own.
