Linking to/Commenting on (Semi-) Old News?

I originally planned to insert a MarketWatch article about Google considering manipulating searches when Trump's travel ban materialized in January 2017. However, it's from September of this year, which makes me rather uncertain if it falls into the category of Current Events anymore or not.

Would the staff allow me to post this and/or other similarly-dated articles, or no?
