A recent discovery in the Stasi files. Such things lead to imaginations that Putin was a super spy: cocktail parties, chasing foreign spies in fast cars and being clever than the bad guys in the end.
But, if we're being honest, it was probably all boring.
A history of KGB activities working inside the Stasi would be interesting to read. They certainly spies in there - probably not Putin - but others who closely-controlled everything that they did.
