Mithraism was one of the growing religions within the Roman Empire and competed with the rise of a rival movement, Christianity, for dominance and popularity. It was a popular movement within the Roman Army until Christianity became popular. Unfortunately, Mithraism declined when Constantine adopted the Christian faith as the official religion of the Roman Empire.
So how can we have Mithraism become a dominant religious force in the European continent? Several potential problems have arisen within the Mithraic movement, namely the unknown amount of women that have participated in this movement.

Wasn't it not just that it was overwhelmingly male but also very much centred around the army and military and didn't have the same appeal for the rest of the population?
