Wow, that's..wow. I'd have thought that something so big would've ended up in textbooks everywhere, but as far as I can remember they don't seem to have, at least when I was at that age.

Fortunately, that whole false armistice debacle happened only a few days before the real thing.

To some extent, I also wonder if this shows that we modern people are..quite detached from our predecessors' experiences since this is (presumably) little-known in 2018.

It makes a lot of sense, but still feels like something that should be discussed more. There is a lot to learn about what communications were like before the modern day from events like that.
