Here is a very interesting book by Bernard Newman about the "danger spots" of Europe in the late 1930s:

The final edition of this book appears to have been published shortly after the Nazi conquest of Poland in late 1939--as evidenced by the last part of this book.
This book is very interesting because it discusses various border disputes and ethnic disputes in Europe in the late 1930s and offers various solutions to these problems. For instance, this book suggests that there should be a slight border revision between Hungary and Czechoslovakia as well as somewhat more extensive border revisions between Hungary and Romania. Overall, this book's ideas are certainly interesting and could have helped pave the way for a more lasting peace in Europe had it not been for Hitler and the Nazis.
It's also very interesting to compare the border disputes and ethnic situation in Europe in the late 1930s with the present-day. Some of these disputes--such as in regards to Poland--have obviously disappeared by now whereas some other disputes and issues--such as Kosovo (spelled Kossovo in this book)--have remained up to the present-day.
