The New Starfleet Ships in Star Trek: Lower Decks
Interesting that he has 3 different classes of cruisers - heavy, [common?] and light rather than the normal two and that none of them are mentioned as battleships. [Which from at least one game in the 1980's was the designation of the Excelsior class]. Also that despite mentioning that the last class he talked about seems to be an update/enlargement of the Excelsior he talks about it as a light cruiser. Although the latter could be just an oversight he made and he meant to call it an heavy?

Always amazes me that the Federation went from exploring to a full scale fleet of warships. |

If that ships is only about a mile long and has such a big crew and substantial life support systems what materials could it actually carry back to Earth or some other human population centre?? No point in taking apart a large asteroid, let alone a good chunk of a planet for giga tonnes of materials if there's nowhere to store it. Unless they have massive cargo ships working alongside each of the planet crackers.
