Offspring of Neanderthal and Denisovan identified for first time

  Interesting and suggests that there may have been friendlier relations between previous hominid populations than had been believed beforehand.  Especially since the Denisovan father seems to have had some distant Neanderthal blood himself.  Which removes/reduces the possibility it was a singular fluke or possibly an act of rape.

  Didn't know a lot about the Denisovan group although the fact they sound even more robust than the Neanderthal suggests they were pretty tough.  Thought they had died out sometime earlier but obviously not.
