Yes, I agree. That, while giving a lot of meat to chew on, could be a bit too much in one chunk.

We’ve now had 8 months, or 2/3rds of a year under this new experimental month by month update. How are you finding it? It seems to work alright for me as author and takes less time to get out. I wonder, though, if the “penny dreadful” structure means that some events from say, February, are no longer paramount in a reader’s mind. What I think I’ll do is this: - Do monthly updates as a Version 1.0 - Answer monthly comments as we’re doing - Collate them into a yearly post with expansion and added clarification based on what crops up from interim feedback - Follow up with my own notes, special posts on macro developments and stats combination I like it, it allows us to focus on one month each time instead of discussing a entire year at once.
Agree. As Simon says there is the issue of people forgetting what's happened in earlier months so an annual review would definitely be useful and as you say you can add points related to feedback from us. Plus it does seem easier for you Simon.

Good to see we are on the same page on the matter. I’ll see whether it succeeds in attracting more comments/engagement, but the consistent comment from you two chaps is a great and welcome basis for anything that subsequently comes.

To bad there is not much activity going on the other two forums you post them, one has a large member base and the other has some very knowledge members.

It comes and goes on AH.com, but mainly goes. On TBOverse, there is usually a bit more unless it rapidly gets knocked down the page by other topics.

AugustAugust 1: London is flooded with troops and police in the aftermath of yesterday’s outrage, with security particularly high around Buckingham Palace and Parliament. Home Secretary James Callaghan announces an inquiry into how the attack was able to take place. Wonder who it was.

That was at the end of the previous month's entry. A very bloody gun battle involving police, armed civilians and the military taking them down. The IRA - but not OTL one. Some radical Marxist type lead by Carlos the Jackal.

They are lead by Che Guevara. Carlos will join, along with various Arab types, Andreas Baader and gang, Italians, Japanese Red Army and some of the nastier Irish types. Stir, add in some of the fictional characters of that profession and then serve as a growing pain and problem.

And does the Soviet Union deny all claim of involvement.

The Soviets were not involved.
It was intended as a targeted attack on the Bank of England and Stock Exchange, or symbolic targets.

Not a heist, but a strike at the heart of capitalism.

Not a heist, but a strike at the heart of capitalism. So no gold to fund the global revolution.

Apologies, I forgot we're still in the 60's and that Che is still alive here.
