Interesting points, chaps.

Germany will soon be outproducing Britain when new factories come into service.

The nuclear weapons states are a sign of how proliferation has thrived.

The populations and resources are based on Earth alone.

Germany and Japan are viewed as a bridge too far to fully trust with nuclear weapons at this time in the view of the West, whilst the Soviets have expressed that if they were to go nuclear, they would view it as a hostile act. The US has been putting a lot of pressure on both not to go nuclear, even if the Germans operate a number of small atomic powered submarines, and have been successful thus far. That is one factor in Japan getting quite a bit of conventional assistance and the redeployment of American troops to the Japanese Home Islands; Vietnam gets in the way of this.
