does anybod know or play Naval Action? It is still alpha, but it is a nice game about the carebean in the time of "Pirates"...
Know it, have seen it on YouTube but not played it, does it have Dutch ships.
It has international ships, say an Essex frigate, Victory, Santissima, Endimon, etc...
there are different countries... prussians, russians, dutch, swedes (big players), USA, UK, spain (me), pirates...
it is similar to World of Warships, just that you have a free world to cruise, level up (untill you could mount 1400 men in a Santissima (e.g)), you could build war ships, cannons (very expensive otherwise)
If you remember (how old are you?) Pirates on Commodore C64 and later amiga, it is similar.
Lots of fun, but it is no game that need quick reactions.... reload of 32pd are shortend (historically sometimes 6-10 minutes) to 50sec, the graphics are great.
BUT - it is a game you pay 30-40 EUR (steam), it is ALPHA-status.
But lots of fun, engaging with a wasa (swedish superfrigate - not the well known ship) a StPaul (russian second-line ship) that had sailed into reefs is great.
I bought it 5 weeks ago, on average i play 3h a day... it is worth the fun
- if you like the sailing battleships (don´t turn against the wind in a greater ship of line - NO FUN)
- if you like long going games that develop slowly (learning curve is steep - you need to understand the different ships... don´t attack in a 74-cannon ship an expert hostile player with a frigate, he kills you easily...) and that could be played some years
Don´t buy it if you want short rounds of 10-15 minutes for a session... in that time you have not even reached (in battles) your enemy... if you are unlucky...
I like it, as spaniard the british, dutch, swedes and americans are sworn enemy, prussians run under the radar (but prussian players sunk me twice)
you could play with NPC only (quite easy) or with hostile players... here - if you engage an expert, run for your life or die.
it has great potential, but in the moment there are on average 300-500 players online, no big thing. But lots of NPC, here you can engage 4 Constitution-class superfrigates, the AI is not bad (or i am a bad newbie
)
It is NOT boring, lots of things you can do.
In the hot zones (playing UK, france or sweden) you challange your hostile players very often, as spaniard it is calmer...
you can go to clans, coordinate your battles, much fun.
Open minded society - as far as i could see in the moment, most are fans of pirates....
