What would happen if Hollywood dies by the late 1970's? What would entertainment be like if that happened?

Because of lots of movie flops, most movie studios went backrupt. That does not mean Hollywood will die, also what flops where there in 1970 compared to hits. If i understood the poster correctly he means, that the studio-system of Hollywood will be broken because no "big player" exist anymore and so no "Blockbuster"-movies would be done here. Just what happened post-ww2 in Babelsberg in germany, they never recovered from the war. One possibility is that independent directors and many different financies would build in different places their own "mini-hollywoods", so the industry is spread over the USA. With some luck we would see a high rise of quality movies instead of the "typical american blockbuster" with limited depth and very simple stories (RamboII, Rambo III, RamboX, Jaws II,III,3D, etc... or all these Superman-movies) The alternative scene of high qualified and intelectuell inspired directors and actors exist even today. But the next Disney-StarWars or other "Lens-over-"Effect-Spectacle will be produced in Hollywood. Unfortunatly today "hollywood" has way to much influence, on the other hand also good movies came out of it. With Hollywood "dead" you see less blockbusters but more "surprise-hits" but if say in 1990 some succsessfull directors start to build up their own studio-system, Hollywood will be repeated there... think about the british "Hammer-productions", these were for quite some time succsessfull, untill they run out of cash.

Everyone watches films made in Nigeria, India, Japan, Europe, and Korea instead, and learns to read subtitles?

Yes, as a german i was very surprised that countries like the netherlands or belgium do movies in orginal language with subtitles... for their own crowd. But - with Hollywood gone bankrupt you will still have a majority of US made movies, hopefully with more content as the typical hollywood movies, just like actual movies from OUTSIDE hollywood, but more of them, maybe some "bases" in that an actor scene will develop. Or did the OP mean that a nuke blow up hollywood in Oscar-time, killing all bosses, actors and writers in one swoop? Say Michal Bay had overdone a special effect just kidding... thanks to computers you have enough lense-over-effects from him for 100 movies... yeah! (irony on)
