Nice read, scary that we came so close to World War III several times. Agreed. Difficult to see a way of avoiding nuclear deterrence but there are risks. |

These are just snapshots from a small period, two years, during the Cold War. I am sure there were many more such events that no one was aware of. Thankfully, cool heads prevailed.
