So what if Texas conquered the contiguous US? The POD is March 2 1836, the day that Texas became independent. I would imagine that after Texan independence, Texas would expand westward towards the Oregon territory, use Mexicans as slaves along with African slaves, and due to Mexican slavery, there would be no Mexican American War. Texas, after it has conquered the Oregon territory would go eastward towards Ohio and Missouri and continue going eastward until the 13 colonies were conquered. There would be no Civil war and thus slavery would continue until today. This would easily lead to Texas expanding to the entirety of Mexico.
But would this happen if Texas conquers the contiguous US?

Like... the Republic of Texas?
There's no plausible way in which Texas could've invaded the contiguous US. It was so weak and unstable there was already talk about joining the Union a few years after independence. There's simply no reasonable way, since the US was so mighty strong and Texas lacked both the motives and the strength to carry this out.

I do not think we will ever see that happening, in 1836 the Texas population was only 50,000,of of which where 5,000 blacks, 30,000 Anglo-Americans, 3,470 Hispanics, and 14,200 Indians, that compared to 15 million who where living in the United States, the United States Armed forces was a seize of 16,874 compared to the 2,000 to the Texas Army (acodring to the figures i have found), so you see, there is no change Texas can successfully invade the United States of America while also be worried that they might be invaded again by Mexico. |

The sheer logistics make this impossible. Texas has neither the manpower nor the resources necessary to do this. The US would march into wherever their capital was and dissolve their government in short order.

But in the 1900s would probably be the worst time to conquer the US despite what 1 person has told me. It would require secession to be legal and it isn't. Statehood is eternal unlike the EU where countries can come and go as they please. There is no way that a "Texit" would be successful. there is just no way. Not only that but all roads leading to Texas would have to close and this includes most if not all highways. The first character in my story about Texas conquering the US goes by horse to Texas. Just for good measure, all the streets would probably close because there are probably thousands of routes to Texas that involve only streets, no highways.
This would be good for the horse rider but bad for literally everybody else.
