Either F.D.R. NEVER RUNS OR IS DEFEATED IN 1940. How would history continue differently under a Wilkie administration? Well the main butterfly is that there is almost certainly no New Deal. Which depending on your views on the economy means either a continued and deepening depression until either something like the New Deal or other Kensyian economic measures are employed or violent revolution results, not necessarily successful but likely to be a serious blow, if not fatal for democracy OR a shorter depression and earlier recovery. I'm in the former camp. |
