BUFFALO, NY.- The city of Buffalo, New York, was the stage for a coordinated assassination attempt, with the goal of ending the life of US President Herbert Hoover, who was visiting the city to meet with fellow Republicans, in the New York Annual Republican Convention of 1931.
President Hoover was assisting to a Republican Representative meeting in the Grand Hall Hotel. The meeting was assisted by over 50 Republican Representatives, including longtime congressman Ulysses Hawley; grandson of Civil War hero Patrick G. Johnson, Al Johnson; Iowan Carl Hawthorn and South Carolina businessman, Shawn B. Hughes. The President arrived around midday yesterday, preceded by an entourage which included Vice President Charles Curtis, Secretary of State Henry Stimson, Press Secretary Ted Joslin, as well as their respective wives, and members of the date. Following reception, President Hoover delivered a speech at around 11:25 to the 75-people audience, in the Hotel's reception hall. Less than three minutes into the speech, three men rose from their seats simultaneously from among the seated politicians, each wielding a Magnus .50 revolver. The one nearest to the stage--less than twenty-five feet from the President--fired three shots at Hoover. At the same time, one of the gunmen fired six shots randomly, startling the crowd and provoking a stampede. The third, after shouting in German and saluting, dug his hand into his coat's pocket, according to witnesses, and detonated a small homemade bomb, killing himself instantly. The bomb killed two people--not counting the suicide bomber--and injuring several more.
Of the shots fired at the President, one of them hit him in the right arm near the wrist, while the other two missed him entirely. Later conclusions revealed all shots would've hit Hoover--resulting in fatal injuries--if the would-be assassin hadn't been aprehended by the man sitting next to him: Vermont Representative and World War I veteran William Nixon. Immediately, Hoover was retrieved by his Secret Service security. After the assassin was aprehended and the bomb detonated, the second gunman attempted to flee the scene; however, he was stopped by police elements.
Four people died in the incident--including the suicide bomber--and many others resulted injured. Hoover was evacuated from the hotel and received emergency medical treatment; it has been stated that his condition is "healthy" and is awaiting surgery to remove the bullet. Security elements immediately evacuated the hotel and secured the adjacent areas. The two gunmen were taken by the Buffalo police force and await trial, charged with treason, conspiracy, murder and attempting to assassinate the President. So far no reports have been stated relating to whether they have revealed any information.
Less than four hours following the attack, the Buffalo police station reported a call from an unnamed source, stating that the National Socialist Aryan Party of America--a far-right extremist political party based on New York City--was responsible for the attack. Hours later, Nazi spokesperson--Dr. Markus Weiss--admitted that the three gunmen were indeed Nazi Party members, who had been tasked by the Nazi leader--44-year-old Austrian immigrant Adolf Hitler--to assassinate Hoover as a "warning" against the "inferior Jews who perpetrated the Wall Street disaster". According to Hitler, Hoover and his politicians had perpetrated the economic crash, influenced by Jews and other "derogatory peoples", and called the American people to rise up and overthrow the "political tyrants and oppressors" who "dominated America under a despotic rule". Buffalo newspaper The Buffalo Morning Letter, announced that "Hitler has no place in this country."
"The Nazis are an evil of unbelievable proportions," said Press Secretary Joslin during an emergency press meeting following the attack. "They are a ruthless cancer with the mission of brainwashing the American people and incite evil among them. Their violent and extremists ideologies need to be stopped, and Hitler finally eliminated in whichever way possible, before the American people is hypnotized by this monstrous maniac." The convention was canceled following the attack, a situation described by Joslin as "severely affecting" Hoover's reelection efforts.

Well even for OTL Hitler this sounds like a bloody stupid move, especially admitting they were behind the attack afterwards. There might be a lot of desperate people wanting change with the recession so deep at this point but I doubt many would support such an assassination attempt so would say its more likely the party is quickly banned and leading members arrested. Furthermore, since Hitler and a number of his fellow party members are immigrants from Germany/Austria, at least according to your previous post IIRC, their opponents are likely to paint them as anti-Americans.
It might be easier if you posted all entries, presuming this is the same story, in the same thread please? It would be easier for readings to keep track of what's going and including their replies.

The country lives in fear, dear Viktor. Even though the goal of assassinating the President was not achieved, I soon realized we had acquired something far more powerful: fear. Presidents are easily replaced. Yet fear is something that poisons the heart, infects the mind, driving people into madness. It is something that lingers; never has there existed anything more powerful. And the instant our valorous men fired the first shot, the nation plunged into relentless and violent terror. The government is in disarray. The people are soon beginning to realize the dark truth: their leaders are not to be trusted...

Hoover is a malicious cancer. Nine months into his coming of power, and the nation is consumed in the flames of disaster. And what does he do? Nothing. He leaves his people to starve, to slowly die, clinching to a worthless and false promise of future hope. Even though Hoover is in power, his people are turning their backs on him. I'm their true salvation. Only I can offer hope and liberation from the evil Jewish influence.
Yesterday I visited one of the so-called "Hoovervilles": shantytowns for the homeless. So was their hatred for the man they named the very symbol of these dark times after him. I saw firsthand the true wickedness Hoover has created. Hundreds of starving, gaunt, soulless people, slumped against the road, staring endlessly with their hollow, lifeless eyes. They hunch around a measly fire or beg on the streets. Their homes are nothing but. They are made of cardboard, metal scraps and old wooden planks, where entire families stay and slowly die in the dark. No hope in them. Only fear.
I shall rise them up! I came amongst them and inspired them with my magnificent oratory. They came to me, reborn and energized, cheering and clapping as I uttered my fiery words. They gathered around, their faces glowing with a new hope, and they believed me. They exclaimed in adoration. Soon, the Hooverville had been emptied, for each and every soul living there had joined our cause. I shall do the same today, and tomorrow, and any day since. Viktor... the new revolution is about to commence!

It seems very interesting, but I'm wondering why Hitler hasn't been assassinated yet. One thing that you might add is him also having friends and followers with other (European) ancestry, to show his appeal to larger parts of the country.
