How would one make Patrick Cleburne, perhaps one of the best Generals in the Confederate States, head of the ANV.
Also, with him as a Major General at Perryville, what would happen?

No he wouldn't as Perryville was in 1862 while Cleburn would die at Franklin in 1864 What about Robert E Lee. He attempted to retire after Antietam and Gettysburg but DaVis said no because there wasn't a real replacement for him in OTL. TTL, there is, Cleburne. |

Cleburne had a different mindset than Lee and would prefer to defend, defend, defend, rather than attack. He was called the Stonewall of the West, after all. |

Pre-Gettysburg, Any invasion of Virginia was very costly to Union Forces and with enough casualties, there will be peace riots in the north. |
