Shocking photo created a hero, but not to his family

  Very sad, although he seems to have come through both the physical and mental ordeal and made a decent life for himself.  Rather depressing that having decided to be a pastor and obviously being very religious he ended up leaving it because he found it too political but seems to be basically a very good man who has done a lot, in actions large and small to improve the world.

  A pity his family rejected him and there does seem to be a good bit of racism in that as well as concerned about his own welfare.
