1. The Reagan revolution fails: Ronald Reagan former governor of California beats President Gerald Ford to get Republican Nomination in 1976!!However the country is tired of Republicans after Watergate and Georgia Governor Jimmy carter squeaks out a slim victory over Reagan who seen as too conservative on many issues such as Medicare and foreign policy,
2.IN 1980 the Republicans Nominate Rockefeller Republican Charles Percy of ilionoise. he wins but cannot keep u.s out of recession.
3. For the first time since F.D.R, A Democratic president has two terms. President Benson is the last cold war president seeing the end of the Soviet Union and fall of Berlin Wall.
4. A much more conservative president then Percy. President Laxalt during the conservative 90s? as historians call it..Laxalt is President during welfare reform and Nasa budget is increased/

Alyeska, also known as Alaska and Äljeskä, is a parliamentary republic located to the west of Canada. The Republic of Alyeska was founded in 1971, following Tsar Alexander IV granting it independence after 58.6% of Alyeskans voted for independence in a referendum. It was originally settled by Russian Orthodox missionaries, who settled the area around Novo-Arkhangelsk. Following the reforms instituted by the Russian government in 1887, a further wave of emancipated peasants settled in Alyeska, near the Aleutian Islands. Several thousand Finns also moved to Alyeska, either following the reforms of 1887 or in 1932, when Patriarch Abramovitch began a crackdown on Laestadianism, as Laestadians refused to accept the Russian government's proclamations. English-speakers are at their most prominent in the former Yukon Territory, taken from Canada in the Great War of 1924.
From left to right, the political parties of Alyeska are:
Alyeskinskaya Sotsial-Demokraticheskaya Rabochaya Partiya Russian-speaking and descended from the Bolshevik faction of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (their name literally means ”Alaskan Social Democratic Labour Party). They view the Russian government as a capitalist innovation and advocate realignment with the Californian Republic and other members of the Workers' Bloc.
People's Socialist Party of Alyeska/Narodno-Sotialischeskya Partiya Alyeski/Äljeskän kansansosialistin puolue Founded in 1892 by Russian emigrant Julius Martov, the PSP have held a cross-community focus since their foundation, opposing the ”razdeleniya” policy that barred native Alyeskans, Finns, and (in Novo-Arkhangelsk) Canadians and Frenchmen from certain jobs, trains and neighbourhoods. The PSP often (especially in Aleutskiye-Ostrova and the northwestern counties) govern in coalition with the Native Rights Party, and have run on a coupon ticket with them in the 2018 Alyeskan general election, where they took 41 seats out of the 200 under Ivan Melikov's leadership.
Alyeskan Native Rights Party Led by Marilyn Jensen, the ANRP have come far from their beginnings as a proscribed organisation. The ANRP is broadly centre-left, and is divided into two factions: the ”traditionalist” faction under Jensen, which supports practices such as seal hunting (banned by Fitzwilliam's Yukon government in 1962), and the (further-left) ”environmentalist” faction based in Jääjöki and the Northwest Counties, which is aligned with the Canadian Green Party and Ocasio-Cortez's Ecology Party of America. It has campaigned for Dené and Tlingit to be given official recognition on a par with Russian, Finnish and English.
Social Democratic Party of the Yukon A big-tent left-wing party supporting a devolved Yukon government and English-speaking interests (such as the abolition of compulsory Russian lessons in English-speaking schools). They hold a large amount of seats in Yukon county Dumas, and have been endorsed by the PSP in seats where that would be preferable to the Yukon National Party.
Le Parti Français et Franco-Metis de l'Yukon et l'Alasque A centre-left party with footholds in the only officially Francophone county in Alyeska, Nouvelle-Normandie (located in the south-west of the Yukon) , the PFFMYA, who are currently led by Didier Dubois, serve as a thorn in the side of the more extreme ”Yukon for English Speakers” nationalists.
Centre Party of Alyeska/Alyeskinskaya Seredina Partiya/Äljeskän keskusta The Centre Party's main role is to ”get into every coalition possible and drag it back to the centre, kicking and screaming” according to their Home Affairs Spokeman Darrel Pasloski. They receive votes mainly from left-wing Finns disillusioned with Järviläinen's leadership and residents of Novo-Arkhangelsk, Poronlahti and Whitehorse (Alyeska's three largest cities).
Äljeskän suomen kansanpuolue Generally centre-right, but (under Aleksi Järviläinen's leadership) have drifted slightly further to the right of late, leading them to be given (by the left-wing Alyeskan Star) the nickname ”the blue and white NLP”. They take a neoliberal stance - it is in the interests of their voters to do so, as many Alyeskan Finns are in the fur trade, which is mostly unregulated.
National Liberal Party of Alyeska/Natsional'y Liberalya Partiya Alyeski/Äljeskän kansallinen vapaamielenpuolue Right-wing, and known for being the only pan-Alyeskan party to have a leader (Stacey Hassard) from a minority group, the NLP support measures in favour of a free market and Alyeskan intergration into the Union of Independent States.
Conservative Party of Alyeska/Konservativ'y Partiya Alyeski/Äljeskän konservativpuolue Considered at the edge of the Alyeskan Myers-Briggs Window, the CPA, led by Sergei Ulanov, enforced the system of ”razdeleniya” that discriminated against Native Alyeskans and non-Russians, although the current leadership disavows this. They are mainly supported by Russian-speaking farmers and huntsmen in rural Alyeska.
Yukon National Party Considered rather right-wing, and often known as the CPA's Yukoner sibling, the YNP (as opposed to the SDPY) support outright independence for the Yukon. The party has found support from Laestadian independent deputy Matti Lahtinen, who sits with them in the Duma. He has said that he supports their social conservatism and pro-life stance, and has entered into a coalition agreement with them on the condition that Finnish remains an official language of the Yukon in the event it receives independence.
Natsional Konservativ'y Partiya Alyeski With a Russian-supremacist outlook, the NKPA are known for intimidating non-Russians, and their leader, Vladimir Zhirinovsky (Novo-Ekinaterburg) has often been accused of orchestrating the 2015 anti-Finnish riots in the Aleutian Islands, although he was narrowly exonerated by the Supreme Court of Alyeska. The NKPA officially supports the ”razdeleniya” system, which has led to their ostracism among the other parties of Alyeska.
List of seats by party as of the 2019 Pohjois-Poronlehti by-election (excluding the non-partisan Speaker): Alyeskinskaya Sotsial-Demokraticheskaya Rabochaya Partiya: 3 Coupon For Alyeska: 44 (2)People's Socialist Party: 27 (2)Alyeskan Native Rights Party: 17 Social Democratic Party of the Yukon: 23 Le Parti Français et Franco-Metis de l'Yukon et l'Alasque: 1 Centre Party: 41 Äljeskan suomen kansanpuolue: 7 National Liberal Party: 59 Conservative Party: 10 Yukon National Party: 7 (+1 independent in coalition with them) National Conservatives: 3
President of the State Duma of the Republic of Alyeska: Stacey Hassard (NLP in coalition with ÄSK and CP, 107 seats) Leader of the Opposition: Ivan Melikov (PSP on a coupon with ANRP, 44 seats)

1969-1973 George Wallace
1.The results of the 1968 presidential election surprised everly one. most of all the winner.George Wallace became the 37th president of the united states beating Former vice president Nixon and Vice president Humphrey. president Johnson wasent to keen on his liuetinent becoming presient but was horrified at Wallace becoming president as was most of America. Thankfully there was no roll backs on civil rights but the Wallace admintration dived into Veitnam much to the left"s dismay. 1973- 1977 Ronald Reagan Reagan ,governor of California defeated Edmund Muskie and Preswident Wallace. u.s. continued into Vietnam and the China .Soviet relations went sour as the two countries had a trade war. the U.S. sunk into a deep recession.
1977-1979
Jimmy Carter
The former georgia plantation farmer turned governor defeated the ex actor turned governor. president in u.s. history closet elections ever!!president Carter got middle east peace deal but months before his reelection he was fatally shot and killed.
John V.Lindsay 1979-1985
President Lindsay is considered by many historians citizens the country's worst ever president. The u.s. involvement in Vietnam continued and the United states had a oil crisis in 1980 George Bush came close to beating president Lindsay and Anderson won his home state 1984 Governor Brown and Ted Kennedy primaries the unpopular Lindsay.
Howard Baker 1985-1993 President Baker was America's last cold war president. Finally there was a cease fire between North AND South Veitnam. also. THE u.s. made a recovery. In 1984 President Baker defeated Senator Gary Hart.

Atoms split over DC
Richard Nixon (Rep.) - 1961 to 1965 Elected in 1960 after being JFK, Nixon inherited Eisenhower's White House. His presidency was fraught with international tension including the successful US invasion of Cuba.
Lyndon Johnson (Dem.) - 1965 to 1967 Defeated Nixon in 1964 on the back of his own unsuccessful VP run in '60, what was called "Nixon's warmongering" and domestic counterculture clashes. In the White House on the morning of October 14th 1967 when WW3 started and DC was destroyed in atomic fire.
John Connally (Dem. : later Ind.) 1967 to ?? ?? Former governor of Texas and Johnson's secretary of commerce was the senior surviving US official in the line of succession after the surprise Soviet nuclear attack. He took over a country wounded like it was with tens of millions dead and suddenly at war. Quickly, Connally led the US to 'victory'... but at quite the cost.

1.Richard Nixon does not campaign in all 50 states, during election night Nixon is able to win California. Texas defeating Kennedy. Joe Kennedy is not as charismatic as his brother John who here is journalist.
2.Johnson defeats Nixon the Vietnam war does not become a American issue but there was a costly 3 year war in Cuba. Johnson cannot curb the recession but pass civil rights bill of 1965.stands down to run for reelection due to health issue,.
3.Easily defeated Goldwater for nomination.in this timeline Reagan is never governor but the former mayor of San Francisco is. he endorse Rockefeller that helps him the nomination.

The Don and The Dick
Ronald Reagan (Rep.) - 1981 to 1981 Elected in 1980 after defeating the incumbent president, Jimmy Carter. Murdered by a crazed assassin, a film fan named John Hinckley, a few months later.
Donald 'The Don' Rumsfeld (Rep.) - 1981 to 1989 Reagan's vice president, chosen instead of George H.W. Bush. The Don served out Reagan's term and won his own in 1984.
Richard 'The Dick' Cheney (Rep.) 1989 to 1993 The congressman was chosen to be The Don's vice president in 1981: he was called The Dick by the media. Won election to the presidency in 1988 but lost a re-election attempt in 1992.
Albert 'Al' Gore (Dem.) - 1993 to ?? ?? As a young senator, he reminded many of JFK. Defeated incumbent president Cheney in 1992.

Out of curiosity, I wonder how the policies enacted under Rumsfeld, Cheney and Gore will compare to those implemented under (surviving!) Reagan, Bush Sr. and Clinton. I used Rummy because he was someone considered - just for a moment - as a running mate for Reagan. He and Bush the Elder had a rivalry back from when they were both in the White House under Ford. Once Reagan was killed, I thought he'd chose his friend also from those mid-70s days in the White House, Cheney, to be his VP: just a fun idea really. Then there was Gore who ran in 1988 and 1992 in OTL and he seemed a good choice too. Policy wise? No real idea. The Cold War was still raging at the time of The Don and The Dick but I'm not sure too much would change with foreign policy. Domestically: I have no real idea. Not related to this directly... but on page 2 of this thread, post #6, I predicted that Boris Johnson would assume the role of PM in 2019! That was posted back in early 2018 too.
