I just saw both Jumanji movies in quick succession, one in my dorm room and one in the local theater.
Enjoyed them both. The new one is quite clever, and is a very good 'video game movie' in terms of adapting video game tropes to the big screen. Also great characterization in this one, and I am now thoroughly convinced the Rock can act.

I would imagine as much, but the second is still definitely worth seeing. |

While Zathura (I assume that is the work you are reffering to) the book is a sequel to Jumanji the book, Zathura the Movie is only a spiritual sequel and so does not count as part of the franchise. |

I finally watched it myself and must agree that it is a good Movie. It is well written, has good action scenes and is very funny.
